Academics

Overview

Bishop Canevin High School offers a dynamic, vibrant learning community that challenges students to strive for academic excellence as critical thinkers, effective communicators, and creative, and resourceful problem-solvers while becoming responsible and compassionate leaders. Recognizing the individual and unique abilities of each student, Bishop Canevin’s curriculum is designed to strengthen academic skills and discover new paths of learning. As a result, we ensure that students find the appropriate level of challenging academic rigor and success.

Through the combination of traditional college preparatory courses, innovative technology that reflects current trends in education, talented and dedicated faculty, and inquisitive and enthusiastic students, Bishop Canevin is an educational experience that encourages the highest level of achievement. Minds are opened to a world of possibilities, interests are explored, and goals are established for success in high school, college, and beyond.

Bishop Canevin offers a broad selection of Honors courses in all academic disciplines. Students with high ability and a desire to challenge themselves may choose to participate in the College-in-High School program, offered in cooperation with several local universities. In addition, students may elect to incorporate Advanced Placement courses into their schedules. Both of these options provide the opportunity to earn college credits while taking courses on Bishop Canevin’s campus.
