Canevin Football History 1959-2012
- Bishop Canevin opened in 1959
- 1959 saw the first team of Freshman only
- 1960 the team played a JV schedule with Freshman & Sophomores
- 1961 was the first Varsity team with Freshman, Sophomores & Juniors
- 1962 was the first full Varsity and entrance into the Pittsburgh Catholic league
- 1969 was the first Championship team
- 1975 Canevin joined the WPIAL
- 2012 will be the 52nd year of Crusader Varsity Football
- In the previous 50 years the Crusaders have amassed a record of 268 wins, 233 losses & 12 ties in that time period the crusaders have been to the Wpial playoffs 14 times, 11 conference championships have been won, 1 WPIAL championship, 1 WPIAL Finalist, and 1 State Finalist.
- In 2000, 2005 & 2011 the team reached the WPIAL semi-finals
