“Blessed by Less” Ignatian Speaker Series Event
On Friday, February 13, 2015 the Bishop Canevin Alumni Association hosted award-winning author and speaker, Susan Vogt, as their third Ignatian Spiritual Leadership Speaker for more than 35 guests at St. Paul’s Seminary.
Based on her book, Blessed By Less: Clearing Your Life of Clutter by Living Lightly, Susan shared what a year of giving stuff away has taught her about life, relationships and what’s really important.
Event attendees received continental breakfast, Susan Vogt’s 1 1/2 hour seminar on how to live lightly and be blessed by less and a copy of her book.
The event was a huge success, and the Alumni Association will welcome their next speaker, Chris Kerr, on Friday, April 10. Chris will show us how through our faith and action – and the example set by the Jesuit Martyrs of El Salvador – we can help those who cannot help themselves. You won’t want to miss this! As the only Ignatian/Jesuit based high school education in Western PA, it is the goal of Bishop Canevin to educate its students and community about these teachings.
The teaching philosophy of Ignatian Spiritual Leadership asserts that God is present in our world and active in our lives. It is an ethical and moral compass that leads to deep prayer, good decisions guided by careful thought, and service to others.
