BISHOP CANEVIN CERTIFICATE PROGRAM 2007-2008
What are certificates?
BCHS uses the services of a certificate broker to purchase gift certificates from many national and local retailers at a discount. You then purchase these gift certificates at face value, redeem them at the store, and the discount becomes our profit.
If Bishop Canevin buys the cards at a discount, why are they sold for the face value?
The discounted amount from each card (profit) is credited to the family.
I.e. pay $100 for a $100 Giant Card @ 5% profit. $5.00 is then credited to you family.
What kinds of certificates are offered?
All certificates listed on our order form are in-stock. We carry Giant Eagle, Shop & Save, and an assortment of restaurant, retail and gas cards.
How do I get an order form?
Order forms can be printed from the BC website. Click Quick Links then Certificates shopping. You will be sent a new order form when order is filled.
What if a want to purchase certificates not listed on the order form?
A complete listing of all certificates available for purchase is listed on our supplier’s website www.glscrip.com. A separate order, with payment, must be sent into school and the certificates will be special ordered when we place our bi- weekly order. Special order forms available online.
How do I purchase certificates?
Certificate orders can do dropped off at the business office from August 1, 2007 – May 31, 2008. Payment must accompany order. Please enclose the order /payment in a sealed envelope, marked CERTIFICATES. Orders are filled by volunteers on Mon-Wed-Fri mornings. Completed orders can then be picked up the at the business office after 12:30 PM on those days.
What if I don’t want to send my order in with my student?
After September 3rd, orders can be placed online from the BC website www.BISHOPCANEVIN.ORG. Click Quick Links then certificate shopping. You will be notified via email when your order is completed. The order must be paid for at time of pickup in the business office. COD orders will only be held for TWO DAYS after notification of completion.
How will I know how much credit I have earned?
You will be mailed a final credit statement in June. If you have a returning student, the credit amount will be carried over to the next school year and you will be given the balance due on your activity fee.
What if my credit is greater than my activity fee?
You may only receive credit up to the amount of the activity fee paid during this school year. For one child, $300 credit can be earned, for two or more children up to $500 credit can be earned. Only the family placing the certificate order will be credited. You will not be permitted to give your credit to another family. Any credit earned over your activity fee amount will go to the BC general fundraising account.
Can I volunteer my services on the certificate committee?
Yes, your help is welcome and needed. Volunteer opportunities are available during the day and evening. Please contact emidgley@aol.com for more information.
Can I use my certificates for anything other than groceries, eating out and retail store purchases?
Giant Eagle cards can also be used at Get Go gas stations and GE pharmacies. You can even use your Giant Eagle cards to purchase gift cards sold at GE, but first check the percentage offered by BC!
Barnes & Nobles cards are accepted at Duquesne and Penn State book stores.
Kohl’s and JCPenney cards can be used as payment on your store charge accounts.
Land’s End, Kohl’s, JCPenney and Macy cards can be used to buy uniform pants
