Calling all "hospitality parents".... The Parent (of 9th grade and transfer students) Orientation Meetings are Thursday, August 5 and Tuesday, August 10 from 6:30 - 9:00. Please call 412 922 7400 x28 if you can help one or both nights to provide decor, beverages, refreshments and simple gift basket raffles to make these meetings a welcoming experience for our new parents. Creative, new ideas are welcome!

We have a new supply of uniform shirts available now at the school FOR BOYS AND GIRLS (school purchased shirts are for ALL boys, but ONLY for those girls that will wear the pants uniform) Order now to avoid the late August rush!
Please refer to the new uniform policy letter sent to your home in June. Call the school if you have questions.
Volunteer Opportunities can be found under the Activities heading on our home page. BC Students must complete a minimum of 30 hours of service for the 2010-11 school year. Service forms are available on our website or in the Main Office. If you don't have internet access, you can call the school for the latest information. For those families receiving financial aid, an additional five service hours must be done directly for/at BCHS. Main page>Activities>Volunteer Opportunities. NEW OPPORTUNITIES CONTINUE TO BE POSTED DURING THE SUMMER. Some students have already come close to completing their hours of service. Call your parish and see how you can help!

CERTIFICATE NEWS - Sales will resume Wednesday, September 1. Congratulations to those who paid their entire Activity Fee by just buying grocery certificates each week! It really can be done.

PHONE NUMBER UPDATES Parents, it is very important to notify the Main Office of any changes in your phone number, work number or email address. Every effort is made to keep our listings up-to date. If you have any changes, please contact the Main Office at 412/922-7400.
Spirit Shop is open every Friday during all lunch periods (10:15-1:00). We are selling our traditional spirit wear, BC football apparel, and fun items like pajama bottoms, new BC t-shirt styles, racer back shirts and hoodies. The Spirit Shop is located across the hall from the Main Office.
Certificate Order Program Send in your order form to the Main Office any Monday, Wednesday or Friday mornings during the school year. Your student can pick the order up at the end of that day. Credits earned will be applied toward your Activity Fee. With a bit of preplanning, your entire Activity Fee can be paid in full. Reminder, all internet orders are C.O.D. only. ORDERS WILL RESUME ON SEPTEMBER 1, 2010.
Students, parents, alumni - If you see a Bishop Canevin related article in a newspaper or magazine, it would be greatly appreciated if you would mail the article to the school or drop it off in the Main Office. All articles will be displayed on the bulletin board across from the Main Office. |
