SONY DSCOn Friday, April 10, 2015 the Bishop Canevin Alumni Association hosted Chris Kerr, Executive Director of the Ignatian Solidarity Network, as their fourth Ignatian Spiritual Leadership Speaker for more than 35 guests at St. Paul’s Seminary.

Remembering-the-Salvadoran-Jesuit-MartyrsChris Kerr showed us how through our faith and action – and the example set by the Jesuit Martyrs of El Salvador – we can help those who cannot help themselves.

Event attendees received continental breakfast and Chris Kerr’s 1 1/2 hour seminar on how to overcome social injustice.

The event was a huge success, and the Alumni Association is excited to announce their next speaker for the Fall. Click here for more information.

The teaching philosophy of Ignatian Spirituality asserts that God is present in our world and active in our lives. Ignatian Leadership is an ethical and moral compass that leads to deep prayer, good decisions guided by careful thought, and service to others.

As the only Ignatian/Jesuit based high school education in Western PA, it is the goal of Bishop Canevin to educate the Bishop Canevin community and friends throughout the Pittsburgh region on this topic. The Ignatian Leadership Speaker Series features seminars by key leaders around the world who provide insight on various topics relating to Servant Leadership and Ignatian Spirituality.
