Bishop Canevin is the only Ignatian/Jesuit based high school education in Western Pennsylvania. Our teaching philosophy is grounded in Ignatian Spirituality which asserts that God is present in our world and active in our lives. It is a moral and ethical compass that leads to deeper prayer, good decisions guided by careful thought, and service to others. In service to others, our students donate over $275,000 worth of their personal time every year.

We strive to keep our faculty and students ahead of the technological curve. This is evident in the fact that Bishop Canevin was the first high school in Pennsylvania to incorporate iPads in its curriculum. Along with the opportunity to take advanced placement (AP) college courses through the Jesuit Virtual Learning Academy, Bishop Canevin students are able to earn up to 48 college credits and can save up to $60,000 in higher education tuition!

Over the past five years, our average graduating student body has been offered more than $7 million in college scholarship offers or roughly $64,814 per graduate.

Out of 15 Varsity Athletic Teams in 2013, Bishop Canevin’s sports teams fielded 4 section champs, 14 WPIAL Playoff Contenders, 6 State Playoff contenders, and 1 State Championship.
