It is the goal of Bishop Canevin High School and the Diocese of Pittsburgh to maintain a safe environment for everyone throughout this return to sports process. We reserve the right to alter or suspend activities and to adjust the plan as new information becomes available, or circumstances change.
All student athletes will need to have a completed waiver on file and go through daily screenings in order to participate at this time.
This plan applies to athletics only, a separate plan will be made available to address the return to school protocols.
For the full Health and Safety Plan details please see the document linked below:
It is our pleasure to produce the attached Digital Keepsake Booklet that announces the following significant accolades:
We encourage our entire community to view the booklet in its entirety as in addition to these awards the Bishop Canevin community is bestowing a special recognition and honor to the entire Class of 2020.
Special thanks to our faculty contributors as well as Ms. Doyle for her talents creating, designing, and producing the booklet!

With the lead gift and “willing hands”, Ms. Patty Gorski, was on-site at today launching the construction phase of this exciting project for our school. To honor her late brother, Michael Maloney “72, Patty was eager to see the project finally move to the construction phase. So eager in fact, she volunteered to start the demolition!
With total project costs exceeding $250,000, the fitness center was fully funded by 105 additional donors, in addition to Ms. Gorski, who came from the ranks of the school’s generous alumni and families.
When completed this fall, the fitness center will be a state of the art, air-conditioned, fitness and exercise facility that will provide treadmills, exercise bikes as well as strength conditioning stations and free weights. The room will be rebuilt from the ground up, complete with new windows, electrical, air-conditioning and lighting.
She was joined in today’s kick-off by School Principal, Michael Joyce, Athletic Director, Dale Checketts, as well as Board Chair, Susan Kelly “73 and Chair of the Board’s Facilities Committee, Herb Hungerman “67, who has led his project from its beginnings! Last, but not least, two of our next year senior athletes, Jillian Golupski and Nevan Crossey were on hand to thank Ms. Gorski and ask the obvious question; “When can we get in and start working out?”
Included in the project is the renovation of the school’s activities kitchen and refreshment area that will be used by our sports teams and other school groups. This area will also serve as a life skills training area for our St. Anthony’s students, who will work alongside other students, as they prepare, serve and sell refreshments.
Look for periodic updates over the summer as this exciting project moves from demolition to completion. Thanks to Ms. Gorski and all our donors who have made this project a reality!
