Campus Ministry
If you have a prayer request, please submit it in this google form, BC Community Prayer Requests! We would love to pray for you.
Who is involved?
Campus Ministry is the work of the entire Bishop Canevin community. Led by our Director of Campus Ministry, many faculty members, our school chaplain, members of the school administration, and interested students, parents, and alumni contribute to our efforts.
What guides our work?
We aim to develop and facilitate a comprehensive ministry focused on prayer, liturgy, sacraments, and service so that all members of our school community may deepen their personal relationship with Christ.
We celebrate the diverse religious experiences and backgrounds of our students and in alignment with our mission, we seek to build upon and expand their varying understandings of what it means to live the Gospel.
What is BC’s relationship to Jesuit/Ignatian spirituality?
The practices and spirituality of St. Ignatius of Loyola, founder of the Jesuits, are woven into our school prayer life, liturgical celebrations, annual class retreats, mission trips, and service program. Freshmen students receive a thorough introduction to St. Ignatius and Ignatian spirituality during their initial religion classes. Jesuit mantras such as “persons for others, “cura personalis” (carer for the whole person),” and being “contemplatives in action” permeate our school environment. More information on Ignatian spirituality can be found here and here.
