abigail gerhcow announced as the fall 2023 amdg award recipient

During our Thanksgiving Prayer Service on November 21, 2023, senior Abby Gerchow was announced as our first AMDG recipient of the 23-24 school year. This prestigious award which was founded in 2020 is given to students who embody Bishop Canevin’s mission by “Doing All Things for the Greater Glory of God.” Academically, Abby was recently inducted into the National Honor Society, was selected by her teachers as the Math Department Award recipient, and had the highest first quarter unweighted GPA in the Senior class. She also was recognized for achieving Perfect Attendance for the 22-23 school year. Abby is very involved in extracurricular activities. She has been involved in BC’s Spring Musical for the past 3 years, and has been a member of the Crusettes. Serving as captain, she was instrumental in the success of the Spirit of the Crusaders collaboration which includes BC musicians and cheerleaders. Faith and Service play an essential role in Abby’s life. She is a summer mission trip participant and was part of a student group that participated in a yearlong process to select our new House patrons. She is a Bowman House captain and this week will be working with her House to select a house prayer and design a House crest. Abby’s parents and grandparents were in attendance to see her receive this award! Earlier the same day she also received word that she was accepted into Penn State’s Schreyer Honors College where she plans on continuing her studies next fall.
