Facilities

Chapel

The Bishop Canevin Chapel is a graceful and quiet place for our community to gather and celebrate our religious beliefs. The Chapel is available every Thursday morning at 7:15 a.m. for Mass. We encourage our entire Crusader Community to attend our weekly Chapel Mass. Adoration and Reconciliation occur on the third Wednesday of every month from 10:20 a.m.–12:20 p.m (Crusader lunch periods.) The Chapel is a great way for our students to individually and collectively grow in their faith.

Courtyard

The Bishop Canevin Courtyard is a beautiful outdoor area for Crusaders to gather and connect with each other before and after school hours. Each year the student body will work together to clean up the campus and spruce up the courtyard area. Within the courtyard is a grotto area intended for prayer and reflection, and Grace’s Garden. Grace’s Garden is a memorial garden for Bishop Canevin Crusader, Grace Gaita ’23. BC Students tend to the garden throughout the year.

Outdoor Classroom

The Outdoor Classroom is a brand new educational addition to our campus. Students and teachers can enjoy a break from the indoor learning approach and excel in the fresh air.

Betsy's Place Coffee Shop

Betsy’s Place is Bishop Canevin’s student-run coffee shop. It’s open every morning before school at 7:30 a.m. Betsy’s Place’s menu selection includes baked goods, coffee, and smoothies. Stop by Betsy’s Place before school to secure your morning coffee.

During the evening, Betsy’s Place is used to prepare refreshments and snacks for home games and other events in the gym.

Michael Maloney Fitness Center

In honor of Michael Maloney ’72, the 1,400 square-foot fitness center is housed in the renovated space just off the school’s main entrance, near the gymnasium. The renovated room is air-conditioned, and includes a rubber flooring suitable for weights and fitness, new exterior windows, LED lighting, drywall, and oak and glass entry doors.

Gymnasium

The Bishop Canevin Gymnasium, often referred to as the “Crusader Dome,” is home to Bishop Canevin’s athletic teams and activities. The Crusader Dome holds so much history of school spirit within the walls.

Not only does the gymnasium host indoor games and events at Bishop Canevin, it also houses school spirit activities. These activities include the Spring Musical, Fall, Winter, and Spring Pep Rally, Day Aways, Canevin After Dark, Alumni Basketball, and much more! The Crusader Dome is a place for Crusaders past, present, and future to connect and create memories.

Innovation Lab

Our newly completed innovation center, named after Bishop Canevin alumnus and former employee, Nick Sinagra, offers students in our STEAM classes the opportunity to work with Robotics, 3D printing, engineering, laser engraving, environmental science, design, and many other subjects and courses. Students also have access to state of the art computers to do research and design.

The technology in the lab allows the Crusaders to experiment with the STEAM field, so they are prepared for the upcoming college experience.

Chemistry Laboratory

The Chemistry Laboratory  is an ultramodern location for Bishop Canevin’s chemistry classes to learn and pursue an education in the science field. This hands-on laboratory is a college preparatory area where Crusaders can immerse themselves in an advanced area of chemistry laboratory projects.

Art Studio

The Bishop Canevin Art Studio is a colorful and creative space for Crusaders to explore their imagination and artistic abilities. Students will utilize two separate studios where they can test different styles of art – drawing, painting, sculpting, weaving, design, and ceramics. The Art room is a beneficial resource for Crusaders to use during and after school hours.

Media Production Studio

The Reed Family Broadcasting and Production Studio is a popular facility for Bishop Canevin’s students to film, edit, and produce weekly broadcasts and promotional videos. The studio is a great place for students to consider the news production field prior to college and creatively express their news stories and events.

Music Room

Bishop Canevin’s music room is a staple location for the performing arts Crusaders. The room is equipped with instruments of all kinds. The Marching Crusaders and music classes access the room during the school year and over the summer during band camp week.

Model Classrooms

A special thanks to our students and faculty volunteers for their help in developing our model classrooms. These newly renovated educational spaces are equipped with an Acquos Board, LED Lighting, Whiteboards, new classroom furniture, and carpeting. This is what we aspire all of our classroom spaces to look like as we strive to provide our students with the best indoor educational experience possible.
