Counseling

Overview

Here at BC we strive to foster student support that will maximize student success. In addition to academic, college, and career planning assistance I also provide social/emotional support. Students can schedule an appointment with me, Mrs. Miller via email (millers@bishopcanevin.org) or in person to discuss anything that is on their minds. Whether it be school related, social struggles, or family related issues I am ready with a listening ear. Empathy is key when working in a counseling setting, the goal here at BC is for students to feel comfortable and safe when speaking with me. If any student/family needs additional counseling resources, you can find it located under the mental health tab in the Counseling section of our website.

A Letter from our Guidance Counselor

Hello,

Thank you for taking the time to learn a little more about our Counseling department. My name is Stephanie Miller and I am the sole counselor here at BC. I have worked in an educational setting for over 15 years, starting out at Pittsburgh Public Schools. I graduated with my Masters in School Counseling back in 2009 from Chatham University. I am beyond blessed to have the opportunity to work with the BC students. I love the smaller school setting which allows for more opportunities to engage with each student at every grade level. Both individual and group counseling sessions are available throughout the school year. In addition to individual/group sessions I provide academic support and college/career planning. Students can email me or stop into my office to set up an appointment. I’m excited to see what lies ahead for me here at BC and will provide the best support possible for each and every BC student.

Best regards,
Mrs. Stephanie Wittman-Miller
