Core Responsibilities

 

  • Communication: Communicate/coordinate with the Bishop Canevin athletics department, parents, and players in terms of practices, scheduling, equipment needed, etc.
    Practices: Create daily or weekly practice plans to help develop the team
    Availability: Must be available to coach weekday afternoons/evenings and weekends

 

Key Skills & Qualifications

 

  • Experience: Previous experience coaching soccer at the high school level is preferred but not required
    Clearances: Before beginning to coach, must have completed all Diocese clearances
     

This is a paid stipend position for all non-volunteer staff members

Front Office Administrator

Seeking a Front Desk Administrator at Bishop Canevin High School. This position serves as the primary “face” and first point of contact for the campus community and provides a warm, hospitable welcome to students, parents, and visitors while upholding the school’s mission and Catholic Identity. Responsibilities include managing the front office’s daily operations—such as answering calls, overseeing security sign-in procedures, and coordinating student attendance—all while maintaining a high standard of professional confidentiality. The ideal candidate provides an environment that fosters belonging and respect while maintaining a safe, nurturing environment with clear expectations for student behavior and decorum.

 

Core Responsibilities

 

  • Visitor Management: Greet and welcome guests upon arrival, direct them to the appropriate person or office, and maintain visitor logs for security.
  • Communication Handling: Answer, screen, and route incoming phone calls; manage general email inquiries and take accurate messages.
  • Administrative Support: Perform clerical tasks such as filing, data entry, scanning, and preparing documents or meeting rooms.
  • Mail & Deliveries: Receive, sort, and distribute daily mail and packages; prepare outgoing mail and schedule courier pickups.
  • Scheduling: Maintain office calendars, schedule and confirm appointments
  • Office Maintenance: Ensure the reception area is tidy and stocked with necessary materials like forms and office supplies.
  • Attendance: Record and report daily attendance.

 

Key Skills & Qualifications

 

  • A professional attitude and friendly demeanor are essential for creating a positive first impression.
  • Communication: Exceptional verbal and written skills for interacting with students, parents and staff.
  • Organization & Multitasking: The ability to prioritize tasks and handle multiple requests in a fast-paced environment.
  • Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and office equipment like printers and multi-line phone systems.
  • Education: A high school diploma or GED is typically the minimum requirement.

 

This is a part time position working Monday to Friday 7:30am-10:00am and 12:00pm to 2:30pm.

Part-time PE/Strength & Conditioning Substitute
Bishop Canevin High School seeks a long-term substitute for a part-time Physical Education teacher this second semester starting near the end of March. The ideal candidate must be committed to developing students’ understanding of sports and kinesiology. Ideal candidates are practicing Catholics and should hold a current Pennsylvania certificate (PE/Health). Prior teaching experience at the secondary level is strongly preferred, but not required. Competitive candidates must demonstrate content expertise, knowledge in differentiated instruction, assessments, and technology. Current clearances are required to work within a Catholic school in the Diocese of Pittsburgh.
