This course is designed to make students think seriously of the art of film as they do of literature, studying various genres of film such as silent movies, screwball comedies, studio films, animation, foreign films, musicals, etc., along with learning about influential filmmakers such as Hitchcock, Ford, Wilder and Spielberg.
