This course focuses on the history, culture and literature of a number of regions including: East Asia, South Asia, South East Asia and South West Asia (the Middle East). Both traditional and modern sociocultural patterns will be studied. Emphasis will be placed on understanding the cause and effect relationship between cultural and historical patterns and the type of governments involved. The students are expected to do extensive reading. There be projects/assignments each quarter. Technology skills will be utilized as they are expected to do research via the internet and where appropriate, utilize applications such as PowerPoint.

PREREQUISITE: 90% in HN Euro (352) or Teacher Recommendation
