The purpose of this course is to give students the knowledge and understanding of basic financial principles for sound financial decision making. Lessons in personal finance include choosing a career and related post-secondary education; being a wise consumer; using checking, savings, credit, and debit accounts; buying insurance; investing; filing income tax, developing communication skills, and more. Students will complete a Personal Finance simulation project for further understanding. Junior Achievement programs will be infused into this course where appropriate.
