This half credit, full year course is designed as an introduction to the basic elements and principles of art. The student uses these concepts in completing assignments, along with learning about and appreciating related aspects of art history. Different kinds of art materials are also used throughout the course, including oil pastels, tempera paint, papier mache, and textiles.
